Bought the D-Link ADSL Wi-Fi router, and the D-Link DWL-G650+ PCMCIA Cards, ready to go. Installation of card on my WinME ASUS notebook no problem, then go to install other card on my partner's WinXP Presario 700 NO GO, drivers in ok, but error messaga says Texas Instruments PCI1410 Cardbus controller has detected a cardbus card in it's slot, but the firmware on this system is not configured to allow the cardbus controller to run in cardbus mode. The operating system will currently accept onl... (end of message)
Have downloaded new bios from compaq, no luck, searched for drivers etc. Any advice ??

Sorry - no solution, just to let you know I have the identical problem with a USB 2.0 card in the PCMCIA card slot - if I find a fix I'll post a reply

Well it is all sorted, a total reformat and reinstall. The set-up is now great, for a total cost of around $NZ550 we have a high speed wireless network in and around the house.
