Hi there

I recently purchased a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router and already strugglying to set it up. I use a cable connection. I tried setting up the router using the wizard but every time I do the setup fails, I also tried setting it up manually thorugh the browser using the default IP address but the browser won't display the page.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

This could be an IP address issue

The default IP address of the router is 192.168.1.1 from memory. To access the router your PC has to be on the same subnet. If it's getting an IP address served by DHCP on the cable modem on a different subnet you won't be able to browse to the Linksys

If this is the problem you should try setting your PC's address manually to 192.168.1.5, say, subnet mask 255.0.0.0, and connect your PC to one of the four lan switch ports on the router
