I have a requirement to connect an ADSL router in half bridge mode to a Mikrotik box - this has to be half bridge mode not full bridging.

I have had a look at a few of the current routers available and none seem to support half bridge mode.

Can anyone recommend anything that they have direct experience with?

Why no full bridge?

Half bridge:
Netcomm NB6 (the blue one)
Dynalink RTA1320

We like the Draytek DV130 routers. Excellent support from Snappernet the importers. I cannot rate their support highly enough.

Why are you wanting a half bridge device? It's a very backwards setup. If you're wanting to use a Mikrotik as a router you want a device that does full bridging.

Simple answer is the Draytek DV120 is the cheapest and the best option. Does full bridging and PPPoA <-> PPPoE conversion if your ISP doesn't support PPPoE on their EUBA connection.

Thanks sbiddle. The mikrotik setup can't be changed for a few reasons and therefore I need to use half bridging.

Has anyone done half bridging on the dv120 or 130 and can confirm its good?

I have a Dynalink RTA1320 if you want one. Had it working in half-bridged mode until I went UFB.

Sorry - thought I ewas in the IT Pro forum and you could get a reseller account with Snapper.

PriceSpy indicates these guys have them at a reasonably sharp price. Note this is a business-grade device, not a cheapie consumer model.

I don't think the DV130 will half-bridge though will it? Why would they add half-bridging when it can do PPPoA to PPPoE translation?

The Dynalink RTA1320 is dam easy to set up in hlaf-bridge and will supply the public IP via a DHCP lease to the connected router. I assume the Mikrotik's WAN interface is a DHCP client?

I hope it does do half bridging!!

Mikrotik is setup with dhcp on its outside interface.
