When my laptop starts it usually has internet connection but today it doesnt work and now i have to use my bros computer. I check my network connections and one of my networks was deleted all i have now is the wireless network which is automatically there. I have a Siemens 4400 modem and it came with a disk i followed the steps and then when it went to the detecting modem it had a error saying couldnt establish a connection with the modem.

anyone help please maybe just a quick guide

Are you trying to connect via ethernet cable, or through the modem?

So in this case you shouldn't need to install a modem driver... Right-click My Computer, Properties, Device Manager and look for a yellow exclamation mark for devices that are not correctly installed, or check that the ethernet adapter is correctly installed.

Also you replied in another post this is running Windows Vita. Did this ethernet adapter ever work with Windows Vista before? If not it means you either need the correct driver or if it is not available then it's not compatible.
