Hi all,

I have a laptop that uses a 3com
bluetooth card to connect to my
6310i mobile phone to allow a dial
up connection to specific phone number.

However; the connection that I get
is only 9.6kps. I was just
wondering if its the phone that is
restricting the connection; as its
the phone that does the dialing(
I am assuming that the phone has
its own modem).

Or is it the bluetooth connection thats causing it??

Hope that makes sense.
Any information would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Denise F

It seems that you're connecting to a dial-up account (CSD), not GPRS. CSD data has a limit of 9.6kbps and sometimes 14.4kbps depending on the network.

If you're not using a number *99# to connect to the network, or if you're using your ISP's or company's number then you're using CSD and this will be maximum speed. Nothing to do with Bluetooth.
