I want to use this router as an AP, and have changed the IP address successfully.

I then logged in, changed the password, and then it asks me for the password
I've tried the old and new, but nothing works
The router was reset to default settings before, so the username should be administrator and the password blank, which worked fine when I changed the password.
how do I log back in?

Reset to factory settings and try again. Make sure you don't change the subnet unless you mean to, that caused a problem with a different router for me once. ie if the default IP is 192.168.1.1 keep it as 192.168.1.x.

i have changed the network from 192.1.1.x to 10.1.1.x
subnet was changed to 255.0.0.0
I was able to connect without a problem after that
It was only when I tried to change the password that it locked out

More info

I did a complete factory reset, and changed the IP Address to 10.1.1.252

I was able to connect again successfully after that.

I then followed Telecom's process to change the password
Username - Administartor Password - Blank

and changed the password

Now it does not work again

I managed to resolve this issue.
Turns out the username is Administrator with a capital A.

yeah that caught me too.

Also I'd suggest using a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 on your home network, unless you have 16,581,373 devices you need to address.

Not that it will likely ever cause you an issue.

Unless you VPN anywhere with a 10.x network - looking at you early 2000s Telecom/Xtra routers with a class A subnet mask.
