our dynalink is dying slowly so its time for a new router. the current one has pretty awful wifi range...
we will be moving at the end of the year to a new adsl maybe VDSL property and hopefully next year UFB will be on street.

whats a good router that will cover all the bases in terms of good wifi range and the ability to play nicely with "all" the connection types?? 4 or 5 gigabit ports would be good too so i dont have to buy a switch

Wouldn't it be sensible to data cable your new house and install ceiling mounted access points in several rooms??

PS. not having a switch is probably a mistake as you should be running six or so runs to main TV location.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

i'll have a 24 port patch panel installed to cover my structured cable but currently only have 2 wired devices (HTPC and TV) increasing by 1 tv and maybe a couple of ports in the bedrooms so that gets me to 5 in the foreseeable future.
i had considered a ubiquity unify in the hall up at the end, but just looking at the specs i see its 200mm Diameter??? theres NO WAY id get WAF for having that huge wart on the ceiling at the end of the hall. if it was as big as a small smoke detector...maybe.
