I tried setting it up via command prompt but having lost my technical care factor for some reason my password couldnt be used by the devices (but I did get the network running, clap clap)

Of the apps available which is the best? I use to use conectify but had to download the .net framework and I found it buggy at the time.

To share your Internet connection by creating a mobile hotspot

  1.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)

  2.

Tap or click Network, and then tap or click your mobile broadband connection.

  3.

Tap or click the Share this connection slider to turn it on.

  4.

If you want to change the network name or password of the shared connection, tap or click Edit.

does your hotel room have an ethernet port? that would make this easier :P otherwise you' need two wifi adaptors, one to connect to the hotel wireless and one to act as an AP to share the connection
