I have an iPaq 3970, I am running Activesyc 3.7 (HP suggested problems with Activesync 3.7.1).

This is a real nagging problem.

I am having a number of problems:

1. when I activesync, I get a cannot find device message on the desktop screen, I hit retry, it then connects, it seems to wait for about 30 sec. It is not an issue when I am at the computer, when I am away it is a pain in the a$%.

2. the sync continually does not work, I have to set up every time I sync

3. If I want to sync a second time, I have to soft reset every time.

4. I am using the Pocket Informant with Journal sync, does anyone have any expereince with this product, the tech support people from the Web IS do not respond to emails. The Journal sync works sometimes, when it screws up, I have to reboot my computer and iPaq.

If someone can suggest an alternative to be able to sync Outlook 2003 Journal entries on Windows Mobile 2003, it would be greatly appreciated or if someone has lots of experience with Pocket Informant and can help, that would be great, telephone assistance would be much better than email on this issue.

This sounds like a profile problem, not ActiveSync. Perhaps something in the registry or the ActiveSync folders is causing this? It doesn't sound like a Bluetooth problem.

I use ActiveSytnc 3.7.1 on my desktop and laptop, and it works fine. It acually lists fixes of a few connections problem and I sync four devices over Bluetooth (the h3970, h4150, i-mate Pocket PC and Smartphone2). They all work as expected.
