I'm looking for the best Vista WIFI adapter - either PCI or USB - that doesn't suffer from the annoying Vista phenomenon that causes loss of connectivity for about 2 - 3 seconds every minute. Has to be fairly long range. Any suggestions?

What's up with those PCI adapters around with 3 antennae? Just flashy, or is it effective in producing a better quality signal?

3 antennas is something N standard uses, you need N equipment at each end (router, and adapter).

Not cheap either.

I have used Vista on many PCs for a long time, and never had issue with WiFi disconnecting like that.

This adapter is great. Doesn't mention Vista compatibility, but I use it under Vista and its perfect, no issues.

I use the Belkin F5D7050au USB Wireless Adapter with Vista. Works well with 32bit, needs Ralink drivers to work with 64bit. It has been really really good. No dropouts so far.

I totally agree.  I bought this adaptor for my desktop computer and it performs amazingly!  Great speed... much better than my notebook's integrated solution.  DSE gives you a driver CD for this, Vista compatible.

tonyhughes - it's not a disconnection issue - you'll only ever notice it using latency-sensitive applications. It's a very common problem - a Google search will reveal the extent of it. It's analogous to the XP Wireless Zero Config issue, but without the simple workaround.

I used to work at DSE many moons ago, and I'm reluctant to buy their products because they're notoriously poor quality. I've been looking at Belkin products, and I think the 7050 (or PCI equivalent) would be a good one. Thanks.
