here's what I've been trying to do: Get internet from my computer to my mobile phone via bluetooth. nothing new, i know. except the phone. brand new in fact. MOTOKRZR K1 (Motorola, fyi. but you already knew that.Wink). there's lots to configure for an internet connection on the phone itself. the guides gave me an idea of what to look for, but weren't enough to complete a connection on the phone.
here's the list, with sub-menu options where applicable:  (the colour coding is explained further below)

Name: *text
Homepage: *URL

Service Type 1: *WAP*HTTP
Proxy 1: *IP Address
Port 1: *number
Domain 1: *
not sure what this is

Service Type 2: *WAP*HTTP
Proxy 2: *IP Address
Port 2: *number
Domain 2: *not sure what this is

DNS 2: *IP Address

Timeout: *in minutes

i understand that not all options have to be filled out for a complete connection. for example, my current phone's service provider's internet connection settings (via Fido's network) have only the green lines filled out. the DNS fields are both filled out with 000.000.000.000 right now.  red indicates no preset values at all.

if someone out there knows how i can adapt the bluetooth guides found on this site to help me figure out what goes where, i would greatly appreciate it. also note that i use BlueSoleil as my PC's bluetooth client, and Windows 2000 NT Professional is my OS.

thanks in advance for anyone's help.  ^_^

(request more information about my problem if needed by posting a reply to this topic.  I'll try and get the info you need ASAP)

Just another note: the PAN service for BlueSoleil is COM12, and the two serial ports available are COM7 & 8.  in case that helps

The phone doesn't support LAN or PAN, and for WAP usage you must go through the carrier's proxy, which is only accessible through their own network... So it won't work this way.
