I've already gone through one Bluetooth adapter from Voyco. The software they included in the packaging was a pirated/unlicensed copy of BlueSoleil so I obviously had to send it back and I got an exchange for a Belkin Bluetooth Adapter. It's teh 10m version: F8T003.

Three hours later and I finally figured out how to switch from the generic XP driver to the Belkin Driver (thanks to you guys and your lovely guides) but now that i've switched drivers there are two little computers with a red 'X' beside them in my system tray and when  I hover over them it says "Bluetooth Network: A network cable is unplugged!"

I've already checked everything back there and it's all plugged in like it should be, Adapter included. I've tried going back to the generic driver and then to the other few drivers listed and it does no good. Any ideas? I'm completely stumped.

This is absolutely normal. When you install the software it creates a network adapter. Unless you have two PCs and they are connected through the PAN service the cable is "unplugged". It's the same as removing the ethernet cable - except that in Bluetooth there's no cable...

If you don't use the service and don't want that icon there, simply open Network properties, right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select disable.

EDIT: I did a bit of tweaking with my system settings and ran a few command prompts. Nothing works. So I just tried pairing my phone (LG800) to my computer and I guess that was enough to get it working and connected. I managed to transfer my pictures to my computer and songs to my phone. Blah blah blah. It's all working now.

Thank you for the help with disabling the Network Adapter!

If I have any other troubles with my adapter i'll be sure to come around here once more. :)

Ah, I see! I did as you said and it worked, thank you! Buuuut... now I have another problem. I still cannot use Bluetooth because apparently my computer is not detecting my device. It's plugged in (i've tried both USB ports, nothing happened) and I really need to solve this problem before the 14th.

That's what the "Advanced Bluetooth Configuration" says. I'm guessing this just means the adapter itself is screwed up/faulty? Should I take the adapter/software back to my vendor and tell him my problems and see what he says about it? Or is there something I could do to fix this manually?
