HELP!!!!!

the original 1.2(something) Widcomm driver comes with DBT-120 is useless, it has permission problem with registry hive, can't seem to setup the Bluetooth settings (clicked OK but not saved!!) -- It was installed under Administrator account.

ANYWAY, at one stage i got 1.4 installed and works fine... then decided to upgrade to 1.42.10a but no avail. it asked for my Bluetooth Key Code, and installation went well. but on restart, the license.dat is invalid and unable to use my DBT-120. I got the keycode from Widcomm site, with right MAC id for dlink. I downloaded the driver from dlink.co.nz and hoping it will work, which isnt too...

I NEED MY BT WORKING AGAIN (with 1.42.10a) BUT WHAT ISN'T WORKING?????????????? HELP!

PLEASE!

Not all DLINK will work with all 1.4. There is a fine print somewhere on their site. Can you reinstall the previous 1.4 file you had?

i got the driver from Dlink.co.nz and they showed three different drivers for different revisions and mine is DBT-120 (rev. B2) and so i got 1.42.10a as it was listed on Dlink's site. Installed that, but Widcomm wouldn't want to start and gave error [6] something about device is not in the list of usage or something..... then prompted me for "license.dat" file.

I wasn't sure what was the last driver i used... either 1.4.1... can't recall.

Can someboy please check the dlink DBT-120 (b2) and try 1.42.10a driver? PLEASE...

ok 1.4.1.6 driver works ok with my WinXP and Smartphone2 and DBT-120 b2. guess this will be the "latest" version of driver i can use for now.. no worries..

next question though. how do i find out what BT services are offered/available on iMate Smartphone2? And what about DBT-120 what services available through that? And along the topic what about ipaq 4150 BT services too... *and just being greedy too* what is a good CF-BT card solution for my 3850 with PCMCIA jacket? I like to BT all my devices. hehehehe

Open My Bluetooth places and go to Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood. Double-click the icon corresponding to each of your devices to see what services are being offered.

Have a look in our Bluetooth Guides for some of the tasks you can accomplish with some of these devices.

Hi!

I am having the exact same driver license problems that you descibed, with the Wincomm software from the D-Link website... 1.42.10a

I read this thread with excitement ;) - but can not find where to download the slightly older version 1.4.16 that you referred to.

Are you able to provide me with a URL link please?

Thanks very much!

Rgds,
Antony.

hey antony. the older version is 16mb big if i remember... i got it from DLink's site a while ago... maybe it's still there. i haven't check.

anyway, PM me a message to remind me about looking for this old driver for you. I'll search for it later.

I am sticking with 1.4.1.6 version, works fine and alright.

Ah! Silly me... I went back to the D-Link webiste, and you can download both versions of the driver software from them very easily.

D-Link show a range of different hardware varients for their DBT-120, such as B1, B2,C1,C2,C3 etc. You can see what hardware type you have by looking at the sticker on the DBT-120 itself.

Anyway, I have a hardware rev B2 - and the D-Link website says that B2 users should use the higher version number, and that only B1 users should use the lower software version.

I now believe that this is incorrect info, and that both B1 and B2 users should be told to use the lower version number.

I performed a search in Google (which is how I found you!) - and there is an entire army of D-Link DBT-120 B2 users out there who have the same problem when trying to use the higher driver version.

I have installed the driver for B1, and it's working great!!

ah! well done. i do think it is DLink's site that made information incorrectly. cos i have tried 1.42.10a numerous time, and triple check that i am using B2 chip.
