Hi there,

I was curious as to whether a TP-Link TD-W9980 will work for NZ fibre connections?

I am looking at changing ISP and they charge $189 for the Huawei modem they supply, but I can get the TP-Link for slightly cheaper myself.

I know that I need to set VLAN tagging to 10 on the WAN port, and it looks like it is possible on this after a read of the manual, but is that all I need to do?

Cheers in advance for the help!

Sean

PTM configuration refers to VDSL2

As of a few months ago (and things could have clearly changed if new firmware is out) no TP-Link devices supported 802.1q tagging on the WAN.
