Only been in our current house for 4 years and the only networking/cabling Ive done was to rip out the absolute crap job the previous owner had done..... so its time to get the house wired up again (and stop the wife nagging me for having cables on the floor).
Im on Vodafone VDSL using a HG659A with a Trunet probe hanging off that and everything else (inc a Unifi) running off the probe.
Im looking at doing the following :
Remove the probe (sorry Truenet)
Set HG659A to bridge mode (if it works, nothing else on this thing seems to) and connect it to a Routerboard RB750GL which will be in charge of DHCP etc. The Unifi, my PC and a network printer will be connected directly to the RB750GL.
Then from the RB750GL, run a cable to the garage where Ill have a RB260GS which will have a server and 2 gaming consoles connected.
Anyone see any issues/flaws in this, particularly the RB unit choices ?
TIA
