Hey guys

I have a 200/200mbps fibre connection with Snap, and am using Pfsense as my primary router.

Recently TVNZ ondemand app for iPad has stopped working.
What happens is when you tap on a show you want to watch, the ad plays (as this is google adserve) then as soon as the ad finishes it tries to begin streaming the app. This doesnt work.

What I have tried:

1. I have a Cisco Meraki MR16 wireless router,  Have tried digging through all of the config and seeing whats wrong, Tried rebuilding the config for the router, Tried a hard reset.
2. I have setup a 2nd wireless router to test (not cisco) just a Linksys $150 deal, same fault. Which leads me to believe its not the wireless routers causing this.
3. Used a mobile hotspot off of one of our phones and it works fine.
4. Changed DNS settings incase for what ever reason my local server 2012 r2 dns server is at fault, but no change.
5. Running a packet sniffer and ntopng to see what ports the IP for the iPad was trying to communicate with the tvnz servers and forwarding the range to the ipad.
6. Torn my hair out and lost 3 kilo's due to frustration.

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

Cheers

Zak

I have a similar setup with a Pfsense 2.2.1 Edge + Meraki MR18 AP.

I downloaded the app on my Android phone but it refused to play anything because the phone was rooted.
Once I suppressed the root detection, I got as far as loading an ad (had to disable ad-blocking on the device as well). It got no further than the ad though. All it would do is show a message 'Video not available' or similar.

The difference here is that mine also does not work on 3G. Unfortunately, I don't have any other mobile devices to test with.

It works fine when I connect with my media center, laptop and desktop over wired and wireless connections.

I'm not sure about how the iOS version rates, but the Android version has terrible feedback so the app could just be rubbish
