We are due to have UFB in our area by June 2015...if it happens. I have OK ADSL2+ at the moment but would consider UFB and it would be Vodafone as we need Suresignal in our house to get any mobile reception.
We use Unotelly DNS with a Draytek DV130 (PPPOE passthrough) and a wireless router running DD-WRT.
If we go to UFB I would need to replace the Draytek DV130...but with what? It would need to be a modem that also supports bridging/PPPOE passthrough.

You simply remove the Draytek and plug the WRT router directly in to the ONT. The ONT is what Chorus/Enable/UFF will install and is what converts the fibre back to copper for you. Depending on the ISP will depend on what settings need to change in WRT.
Vodafone do IPoE on VLAN 10 (i am pretty sure). So just need to put VLAN 10 on your WAN interface and then put a DHCP client on that vlan and you are done.

Correct. Have a look at one of the other 100+ threads about UFB on here and you will see what gets installed and what others have used for routers.

There is a search bar top right =)

Thanks for clarifying this. A guy came around this morning from UFF to scope out the property for UFB, and he said that a modem needed to be plugged in to the ONT.

And that if I wanted to use my own router then I would need to plug it into the modem, not the ONT. So it appears he didn't know the difference between a modem and a router. Apart from this he seemed to know what he was talking about, and was a nice and organised guy who arrived on time and was gone within 40 minutes.

My understanding is that the ONT was the UFB equivalent of an ADSL modem.

Quite right. The guy that installed mine also mentioned my "modem" despite it no longer being required.
