I have recently upgraded my iPAQ 3975 to Windows Mobile 2003. Now it is not recognizing the bluetooth radio that is built it. When I look under settings/system/asset viewer/bluetooth it only shows a bunch of squares and for Radio present it says "N" which I would guess means no. I have also tried to add a bluetooth modem connection, but it just says there isn't a bluetooth device installed. Any ideas how I can get my bluetooth radio visible again?

Did you use the correct update? There are different ROM depending on what device you're using. Also, make sure you got this update from HP. There was a ROM update leaked before the official announcement that did not implement the Bluetooth software.

I purchased the rom update CD from a computer store in Munich, Germany. I live in Germany and HP wouldn't send me one directly, since they claim they can't ship the CDs internationally. The computer store didn't have a version in English, so they ordered me one from HP in Germany. I'm pretty sure it's a legitimate copy. Is there anyway to verify that? If it's not the correct update, I guess I'll just have to wait until I can get back to the states, because I'm not really sure how else I can acquire one over here.

The original one came in a sealed plastic envelope, with a Microsoft Outlook licence key on a sticker outside. Do you have the sticker?
