I have a problem with DNS resolution using an Axis 9010 Bluetooth Access Point. What I am trying to do is enable my Tungsten T3 to browse the local intranet wirelessly via the network access point. The problem is that Palm doesn't have anything that resolves a domain name that is not fully qualified. Windows has a solution for this issue with lmhosts where you can supply a host name and ip address and it will resolve everything, but the Palm does not. I am not wanting a connection to the internet or anything just the intranet.
I can connect to the main page because the ip address is how we connect. If i were to type hays-apps though it can not resolve the address even though its primary dns server is the intranets name server. Another example is, instead of the normal www.something.* (com, org, gov, edu, etc) I am trying to reach http://hays-apps/LinuxDocs/HOWTO/DNS-HOWTO.html, but if i were to type it in like that it will not resolve, but if i type it in the ip it works (naturally) If there is some application i can use that is similar to lmhosts or a workaround for this issue, I would appreciate it.
Thanks
