Trying to acess the setup menus on this router on 192.168.1.1 but it doesnt connect.
is there another i should try? when i push the "?" button on the back it shows green on lan1 but i cant connect to it??? any ideas?

I have an HG556a

Are there other wifi signals on the same channel? They could be interferring and thus preventing you from connecting.

Best bet is to connect an ethernet cable from your PC to a LAN port of the router.

If I remember right the username and password are both admin (or maybe advanced). I have OpenWRT on mine so forget vodafone's default settings.

does ip config show you the lan address of the default gateway as 192.168.1.1? or the IPV4 address as 192.168.1.1?

Pretty sure it was the gateway. i forgot to try a ping but will do tonight. i cant even get it to bring up the UN/password box. i have a pop up blocker on firefox so maybe thats it. will also try another browser
