I hope this is the correct forum, if not feel free to move or suggest a better one.

I have set up a Raspberry Pi as a NAS according to this article and I have it up and running in that the drive is visible and accessible from my laptop via wifi over the network.
I had hoped that my (smart?)TV, LG650B would be able to access it too but it does not show up. The TV can see my laptop just fine.
Is there something else I have to do to get the TV and the NAS connected?

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

What protocol is it sharing using? Samba? Is that a standard? What protocol is the laptop sharing using?

Yes, as per the article, the Pi is set up as a Samba server.

The LG TVs are meant to be able to connect to Samba. This kind of thing can be really tricky to work out. I've been no help sorry.
