Hi all,
Have been using Ipaq 3970 with T68i for last 18 months to surf and e-mail without any problems until I upgraded to K700i. No longer have T68i so can't switch back. Problem is K700i and Ipaq have bonded but won't connect. If I go to B/T manager I get 'refreshing device availability' and question mark on phone icon disappears. If I then tap on phone icon I get the divice information screen with all info correct, rotating icon disappears in 2 -3 seconds and 'refreshing services for this device' appears and screen stays like that !. If I click X on top right of screen it goes back to all devices screen showing phone with opposing arrows icon. Connection settings haven't changed but when I try to connect I get 'no answer from this number' comment. Have also been getting 'Fatal Error' message when closing down B/T manager.

Is B/T corrupted?

Regards Adrian

You'll have to upgrade your h3970 to Windows Mobile 2003. The Bluetooth Stack on older iPAQ models supports only seven profiles. Modern mobile phones (like the K700 and Z1010) are coming with new and more stacks.

You'd have this problem too if you install a Bluetooth dongle on your ocmputer and don't disable some of the services offered. You can't disable the services on the phone, though.

Is there no other way? I'm having the same issue (although mine comes up & the only actions I can take is to either Remove the Bond or Remove the Device) - I thought there was possibly a way to upgrade the Bluetooth manager without upgrading the whole operating system?

Sorry... This seems to be the only way, there's no official Bluetooth software update for Pocket PC OS 2002 on the h3970.

Hi Rolling & Teresa

Did you guys try the 2003 ipaq upgrade ?

I'm having exactly the same problem now that I've changed mobiles from a Nokia 8910 to a SE S700i

I wasn't expecting to have to pay another 50 pounds to get the ipaq talking to the phone :-(

Thanks in advance

Scott
