ok so now I uninstall every thing and start again.

As before I don't have the icon named 'local area connection' that you have in your tutorial.. so thats quite a bad start.

What I do have is -

under LAN or high-speed Internet:

'bluetooth network, network cable unplugged bluetooth LAN Acess server...'

under dail up:

BT Openworld Broadband

and

Alcatel Speedtouch connection

under incoming:

Incoming connections

So where do I start?

many thanks
Frances

I presume you have the Alcatel SpeedTouch DSL modem? You probably will have to share the connection from this modem to the Bluetooth network then...

ok so this is definately where I start? what about the 'BT Openworld Broadband' (BT Standing for British Telecom my service provider not Bluetooth) also under dial up?
I'm just confused as I don't understand why their are two icons for my internet connection, and why it is the modem I need to share

You'll need to share the one that you usually connect to the Internet with. If you don't know which one you connect with, then you should have an icon on the System Tray indicating the connection. If you don't, then you can change their options to show the icon, and then you'll be able to identify which one to share.
