Im wanting my gmail account to go through my exchange server, is there a simple way of doing this? with the outlook pop connector because you cant set the ports that it connects on, such as 997 and 467.

any ideas?

I will try and post a screenshot later of the options.

Can't you use the servername:portnumber format?

No can do, had this problem with *lots* of people when Xtra screwed with their email systems. Customers either changed ISP's but most were hooked up to antispam solutions that pushed the email onto the server.

Search for POPCON then.

If you are referring to officemail: Pop3 connections work fine on Xtra (can confirm with multiple servers, including exchange), minus SSL settings. Hint: use ports 110 for pop3 and 587 for SMTP (with auth). Server names are pop3.officemail.co.nz and smtp.officemail.co.nz.

You can use the same settings (but with pop3.xtra.co.nz and send.xtra.co.nz instead)  with YahooXtra (@xtra.co.nz)  as well, if you really wanted to set an exchange server to get your mailbox.

If you are getting your mail direct through MX records, then it isn't an issue as the messages would be going direct to you.

adding the ports onto the end doesnt work, says that it is an invalid server name or something similar to that.

But I have just had a geneis Idea :D

in the gmail account settings you can get it to forward your emails to a differant email account, so I will have a go at doing that which should work :D

Man im not thinking properly the last couple of days, ahh well

Thanks everyone!

slighly offtopic but what is the officemail thing and who runs it and everything? I had some clients who had it and I had no idea what it was. they were trying to be able to use there webmail from home and then have the client on the work computer, but I had no idea what this officemail thing was.
