Hello every one. As I have worked on a few PDA Tutorials these days and as I have received a lot of mails asking me to do the same for the ActiveSync over Wi-Fi here it is born the new “How-to ActiveSync over Wi-Fi” as usual the tutorial do not pretend to be a scientific material :D it is just the way I do the things. I only hope it can be useful form more people.

Thanks for reading.
Ivan

It's a good guide, but you should add some information about firewall ports for the wi-fi Activesync. Not related to the guide exactly, but my wi-fi ActiveSync always connect as Guest, while other connections always work ok. Go figure.

Tanks, freitasm, for the good words.

I had the same problem for a while every service was working great but the ActiveSync.
I use BlackICE IDS, but my PDA IP address is trusted and accepted. I thought it is enough but …
1. I had the NetBIOS disabled.
2. I had set my PDA Wi-Fi connection to connect to the “Internet” instate of “Work”.
3. I was using the Default name for my HP 2210 exp. “Pocket_PC”
I can tell you my PDA was always connected as guest just like yours. The internet, mail, exploring network etc. was working but not the sync. Until I try to install it on my portable (it has a standard configuration) I haven’t tune anything and it worked. This made me investing and as I started comparing the 2 PC’s configurations the solution come easy.

If you change these settings you PDA is going to work too.

Cheers,
Ivan
