Hi there just a few questions about my network. 1 is it usual to have only 2 wires coming from telecom splitter (the big) one into my wall socket?   (vdsl connection)

secondly is my lan cable cat 6 u-utp patch cord the correct one?

thirdly using port forwarding program its says port 27960 udp  is not open........i play quake live which works but im unsure if i get packets  etc on time,my modem is technicolor  TG589vn v2 which was with xtra but now another provider.

is there anything i should be doing in the modem??

Thank you for reading if you have usefull info fire away.......cheers

well you havent showed us your line stats so we cant really comment on your connection

VDSL uses your phone line, your phone like is 2 wires so thats perfectly fine

cat 6 is also fine for a patch cable

you can get the stats from one of the menus or you can login to your modem using telnet

then type

o (modems ip address
your user name
your password

then "xdsl info expand=enabled" minus the quotes
