Hey guys

I currently have a DSL internet with Trustpower and have a Netcomm NF15ACV Modem/Router. I recently installed a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 Router and connected it to the factory modem and now the internet is slower than I had before.

Can anyone explain?

Cheers

Is your Netcomm setup to be the DHCP server - or have you disabled this and set the Netgear to manage DHCP?

I've set up Nighthawk as the DHCP. Is that ok?

If you have the Nighthawk sitting behind the Netcomm getting a DHCP lease on the WAN interface you'll have double NAT. This is less than ideal for a start.

If you want to use a 3rd party router with any ADSL provider you should be using the ADSL modem in bridge mode.

Is the Netcomm WiFi turned off? Is the Netgear WiFi on the least crowded channel of channels 1, 6 and 11?
