Yesterday I was surfing my favorite site (AliExpress) looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker for an upcoming camping holiday.  I was a surprised that so many new devices were still using legacy Bluetooth standards, i.e.  v4.0 and below.  

v4.0 was released back in 2011, v4.1 and v4.2 have been around since 2013 & 2014 and this year we are expecting v5.

A quick search to see if I needed the newer 4.1 versions (4.2 options were light on the ground) showed the main difference was better LTE coexistence i.e. less interference. 

Thus my question is, In NZ do we have Bluetooth & 4G coexistence issues that I should be paying more for the upgraded Bluetooth (v4.1) standards?

I am running a Nexus 5x with 7.1.1 OS, which is having Bluetooth connectivity issues (I couldn't connect to my sisters Bose portable unit over Christmas) which is making me a tad sensitive to this subject at the moment, although I believe this is due to the new OS update.
