Is there a relatively straightforward way to stream playback from a Chrome browser on one pc, to another pc on the same network? What I want to be able to do is to play (for example) a YouTube video through the browser or possibly VLC on one computer, and to 'send' that to a second computer on the same network. A bit like casting, but without Chromecast. I have Anydesk installed on the two computers and I tried reversing it, but that is going from a notebook with a touchscreen running Win 10 to a pc running Win 7 and I just get a blank screen. It does work fine in the other direction and I use it to control the pc from the notebook.

To be clear, I don't want to stream playback from a file, but from whatever my browser is streaming from the Internet. Is there a good way to do this?

Professionally, this is usually done with multicasting

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_multicast

You may be able to use a HDMI splitter, like this one from Jaycar

Plus HDMI extenders

In this case they are not, and I'm not prepared to upgrade. In the meantime, I have found a workaround solution. It is not quite what I want, but it achieves more or less the same thing. I already have Anydesk installed on the computers and I have discovered that I can copy and paste between them so if I have something on the notebook that I want to play on the HTPC, I can copy and paste the link to it. This is better than nothing.
