The glorious day has finally arrived, and I've put in an order for UFB at my property. It'll take a while, since the other owner of my cross-leased section is in Wellington right now and will need to give consent first, but I thought I'd get all my ducks in a row. I ordered the Huawei router that comes with Spark's plan since it was free, but ideally, I'd like to continue using my Asus RT-AC68U, which currently gives me excellent coverage and speed on my VDSL connection. I've done a bit of a search of the forum and it seems that it's capable of running on NZ Fibre, but that I might have to do a bit of extra set-up. Is that correct? If so, is someone able to explain exactly what I need to do? I'm quite comfortable fiddling around with the settings if I have clear instructions.
Alternatively, could I just bridge it to the Spark-supplied router once Fibre is up and running? I currently have it bridged to the horrible Technicolour modem that came with the VDSL, and that works well. I'd prefer to reduce the clutter on top of my bookcase and just have one device, but I'm not dead set against keeping two.
Is there anything else I need to know? Thanks in advance :)
