I want to replace my current TP-Link Archer D9 router, Netgear Orbi looks good but I can't find anywhere confirmation

that Orbi can be plugged directly into the Chorus Fiber box inside my house. I'm using bigpipe if that makes any difference

If it can't I'll look at a different option like possibly a Nighthawk.

If you ignore that fancy WiFi stuff, Orbi is just another router is it not? Should work fine.

why do you want to replace the d9 with that?

just buy an access point for a couple of hundred and use that to extend your coverage

The D9 is flaky. Wireless drops off completely every couple of days requiring a complete reboot. I work from home and need something more reliable with better Wifi,

I don't have or want any Ethernet cabling for extra access points

I also want less configuration hassle. I have a couple of TP-link range extenders which only work with Wireless B ( slow ), and are a hassle to configure

if your working from home you really should be using Ethernet if you want reliability. wifi offers convenience

can confirm that the latest Orbi Firmware supports VLan tagging which you would need enabled, in order plug directly into the Chorus ONT.

This is not necessary as OP is on Bigpipe.

OK, I've bought one and the answer is yes.

Config was a bit fiddly, as the autosetup didn't work and required powering on and off the ONT a few times,

and entering PPPOE details ( bigpipe email and password ) then got connected.

Orbi has done what I wanted, better Wifi inside house, in sleepout and in garage. All with one Wireless network and no extenders.

Another benefit is that the orbi looks better than the other routers with big aerials.

so far connected 2 surfaces, 1 Mac, 2 iphones, 1 samsung smart tv, 1 chromecast, and an ipad. All 5 bars wireless and much better speed

I put an Orbi system in at home last weekend and it's great.

As a couple of posters have said, it definitely does plug straight into the ONT, but ... you do need the newer firmware so the VLAN/Bridge option is available. Mine was supplied with older firmware so there was a shocking degree of foul language employed until I worked it out - the two Orbi units were talking happily to each other but I couldn't get Internet. But I now have full fibre speed all over the house on all devices.
