Hey all

Quick question please - any drawbacks with flat cat6 cable vs the standard round? Context, to wire up between 2 wall mounted sockets.

Thanks.

IIRC flat is typically unshielded; also snags, kinks and shears easier.

For your use should be fine if you don't need to pull it great distances and it stays well clear of mains cabling.

Flat cabling is one of those things that, sure, you can buy it, but why would you ever want to?

I've never had a situation where I've thought "Man, if only this CAT6 was flat". It's just not worth the potential tears, just buy some decent quality standard CAT6.
