Hi,

I'd like to use a four port cisco srp521w as a switch to hook up 3-4 pcs to one ethernet jack. I've already shut off the wlan (not required) on the cisco.

The internet itself is hooked up by fibre with a server handling dhcp.

What ip should I assign to the cisco? The server's ip as gateway is 192.168.0.1

The dhcp scope on the server is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200

A walk through would be very appreciated.

Nobody's ever re-purposed a router as a switch?
Edit for spelling.

Disable the DHCP and everything else on the router and if you want to get into it assign it a static IP what's not within your DHCP lease.

Yes plenty of people would have reused a router as a switch, but it's a terrible idea - especially when you can literally pick up a 5 port switch for $20 new, or pretty much for nothing on Trademe.
