My TG582n seems to be failing

I've been given a used TG585v7.

I have no idea how the 582n compares with the 585v7.

Advice would be appreciated.

Thanks :-)

What kind of advice are you looking at? They're both pretty basic ADSL modems. Plug it in, turn it on and it'll get you online, and that's basically all you need to know?

So you're saying they're identical in all respects?

Or that you don't actually know how they differ?

If the latter is true, why waste your time and mine, posting an unhelpful answer?

serious questions but have you done a google search yourself for the specs of them?

there is no need to get all high an mighty towards someone who is trying to understand what you are trying to do, but has provided you with useful advice all be it very simplistically.

about the only difference seems to be the 582 offers N 300mbps vs N 150mbps on the 585 wifi.

This is the correct answer . Just what do you expect from a cheap ADSL router?
If the one you were given doesnt do all you require, buy something else

Getting technical : one is more roundy in appearance :-)

If you care enough to ask about features and capability, neither of these devices is the correct answer IMO.
