Hi, just needed a little help with a problem i am having at home. I am with telecom home phone and broadband too.
I have two Pc's in two different areas of the house and both need to connect to the internet. I use two separate adsl routers (1 for each pc) as the distance and inconvenience when connecting both Pc's to the two routers is too much. But however i am not able to connect both the pc's to the internet at the same time. it only allows for one at a time. For instance, i have one pc and router connected to the internet, and as soon as i turn the second router on in another part of the house, i loose internet connectivity onm the first router.. Any way to get around this?
Thanks..

It's not possible to share a single telephone line between two ADSL routers, in the same way that you can't make two simultaneous phone calls on the same line.

What is the distance between the two PCs?

The best approach is probably to run a wireless connection between the two points. You could do this by purchasing two wireless access points and creating a bridge connection between them, or by replacing one of the routers with a wireless-capable one, and putting a wireless adapter in the other PC.

A NAT router (which is the typical domestic type) means one external IP address is shared by several PCs each on their own internal addresses, this means IP translations take place. An AP does not concern itself with IP address, it simply passes layer2 MAC addresses.

Ideally you should run a cable between one ADSL modem/router and the other, or if that is not possible, you can purchase a ADSL modem/router that also has WiFi, and in the other distant PC install a WiFi client card to access the first WiFi capble router.

As the other poster asked, what is the distance between PCs, and what ADSL modems/routers do you currently have.
