Appreciating the distance coverage between the two, which one should one go for please? 100m is tempting but is 2 better?

They're exactly the same, except for the range. If you're using a PDA, or mobile phone then use the Class 2 - no need to pay more if the range will not improve. If you're buying two for your laptop/desktop sharing, then get Class 1.
