Hi!

I am having trouble getting the "TECOM USB Bluetooth Dongler" (BT3030) that i bougth, to connect to my Nokia 6600.

The installation of the Dongler went ok. (Iam using TECOM Bluetooth Sofware 1.2.2.16)
But when i tell it to search for BT devices it just wont find the Nokia 6600! [the settings on the phone are ok]
I´v tried the other way around as well, telling the 6600 to search for the USB Dongler connected to my pc, but the phone wont find it either. :(

I dont know what to do? They just wont "find" each other!

What could be wrong?

I suspect:

*My phones Firmware (Nokia 6600) = v 3.42.1
*The Windows XP´s bluetooth abilitys

Does anybody have any idea?

Why cant they just make this BT devices easy to use as a lamp, for example :(

Are you sure both devices are in "Discoverable" mode? This is the first thing to try.

Also, there were reports of Nokia phones having problems with other Bluetooth devices (like the h2210 couldn't exchange keys with Nokia 6230). Perhaps you should check the Nokia 6600's firmware for an update?

And, 1.2 is quite an old Bluetooth version. You should check Tecom's website for an updated version.

Hi there Freitas!

Thanx for your advices.

I have now got my nokia 6600 firmware updated but now i have encountered another problem.

The software that came with my TECOM Dongler is BTW 1.2, from widcomm.
Now, after installing XP SP2, the widcomm software wont recognise the dongler as a decive.
It tells me that there is no device conected.
Iv tried other Donglers manufacturers BTW 1.4 but i get the Licens issue.
[I dont understand why Broadcom that now owns Widcomm does this]
I guess Money is whats all about, ofcourse.
So i told this to TECOM, and they told me to get my device´s adress number and send it to them so that they could send to me the new BTW 1.4 for my TECOM Dongler.

Hmmm....

First;

-How can i tell my donglers "adress" when the BTW 1.2 keeps telling me that no device is connected on the "hardware" flic.

-If there is a BTW 1.4 avalible for the TECOM dongler why wont TECOM make it avalible on their site for the users.

I have been reading all over the net and forums about this stuff and i am far from being the only one with this kind of trouble.

Who is responsable for all this not being compatible?
THIS SUCKS: Widcomm, Broadcom, Tecom and Microsoft. Most of all, BLUETOOTH.

Iam stuck with my new 35 dollars Dongler and dont know what to do.

Tecnologi is not for normal people.
Standard is for normal people.

I think i should go back to my serial cable.

Fustrated regards

And just with the help of XP SP2 built in Bluetooth support! YES!

Dont even need the Widcomms horrible software!
