As recently reported, some router manufacturers have issued patches to deal with a flood of traffic caused by some Google devices (mainly Chromecast) when these come back from sleep. Google is said to be working on a fix.

 

For those of you running a Chromecast in your network, worth checking if you are affected.

Handled a few escalation cases related to this last year...

 

 

 

horrible problem, especially when customers think the device is asleep and thus off...
