Happy Easter Everyone.

 

Earlier this year I added a GWN7610 AP to my home network and now I am thinking of replacing the ISPs HG659B router with a GWN7000 (on Spark fibre).

 

My question is that since I already have the AP working well can I leave it as is and not have to use the router's interface for wifi stuff? If so, what needs to be done, if anything, to link the AP & router. Online info seems to assume that the 7000 is setup first then the 7610 is added.

You could leave it as it is but you have to manage both units separately. If you like to control both from one single place (on  the router), you must pair the Units. Not sure if you have to factory reset the AP for pairing (and therefore to redo the Setup for the AP in the router) or the AP config is taken over.
