is the bluetooth driver from ibm and the widcomm driver the same?

Not sure. But even if the driver come from the same source, each manufacturer can change it to fit its usage - some remove functionality, and others change the .inf files to make it work with some hardware and not others. Using drivers from third party will require some tweaking.
