Hi All,

I just bought the Amplify HD mesh setup, but until Fibre arrives I need to use my Spark technicolor 589vn v2 as a bridge/modem only on our vdsl connection.

I tried putting it into bridge mode, and it showed a DSL connection, but the Amplifi/wired clients could not connect to the internet...any advice on how to set up this modem as a bridge to the Amplifi router would be much appreciated.

Are you remembering to the set the VLAN correctly in the Amplifi?

Well it couldn't even pick up internet connection on setup. Do I need to change anything else in the technicolor apart from putting into bridge mode using setup?

How would I update Amplify settings or firmware before setting up if that is the issue?

Thanks!

If it's the standard Spark Technicolor should just work with bridge setup.

Can you screenshot the Amplifi PPPoE setup?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the responses. I got this working finally. When you set the Spark router to bridge mode you can set the VLAN ID, so I did it there then set the Amplify type to PPPoE and the VLAN to off.

Presumably if I'd said "no VLAN" in the bridge mode setting, then set it on and to 10 in the Amplify settings this would work as well?

Now we'll see how this stuff works for going through walls while I figure out where to put the ONT install and how to run cables unobtrusively to key locations.
