Hi
Are powerline kits with additional (wifi) slave units still available . I cant seem to find them anymore
Used to be able to buy additional slave units to put in additional rooms other floors
eg like this , for some reason importer doesnt have these .
https://www.tp-link.com/au/products/details/cat-18_TL-WPA4220.html

basically I need a powerline kit & will need 2 additional wifi powerline slaves for it

I cant see a mesh unit working, if wifi cant get through the several walls I dont see how mesh would work there (?)

These devices don't work in a master-slave relationship.....  they are all equal.  So if you buy two twin packs giving you 4 units total, they will all talk to each other fine (assuming they are all 'in range' and on the same electrical phase).

I see the Edimax HP-5102WN is in stock at the importer but surprisingly they don't have the non-WiFi version listed anymore.

The Netgear PLW1000-100AUS set is also in stock at the relevant importer.

The DLink DHP-W313AV and DHP-W310AV  are out of stock.

At another importer the DLink DHP-W311AV and DHP-W313AV are in stock.

Hope the above helps.

Stay well away from the TL-WPA4220 unit, I had no end of issues with them and there are known issues with them (which I found out once I got it).

Ive installed plenty , they have been VERY reliable. The only issue Ive had is one kit needed a reset after 6 months, has been running fine since .
I know there was some bug , but Ive never had an issue with them or come across that bug .

the twin packs, the kits, only contain a single wifi unit. I need the additional wifi units, not the no-wifi unit.

I would need to buy 3 of the 'kits' in total to get the extra 2 extra wifi units I need . Thats just ridiculous , Ive bought the single wifi units the past
but now no one seems to sell a single addon wifi unit .
buying 3x kits(pairs) just for the single wifi units makes it expensive , and a waste .
Previously the best thing about the 'kits' was you could get additional units

Hmmm... the individual Edimax ones may be the best bet if you are happy with Wireless N

And yeah having to buy three kits is far from ideal.  You might be able to TM the two spare units to recover some money.

Have you looked seriously at running cables through the ceiling for a couple of strategically placed ceiling mount access points?  Or cabling under the floor?

Running cables probably not a realistic option.

I guess it is what is is unfortunately.
Its a house with wall & floors that attenuate wifi to the point of being unusable  . I guess I'll just have to tell them
to get good wifi in every room & downstairs (what they want) is going to be expensive.

Ive got a spare Unify AP-LR I can try, worth a shot at least .
Or a single powerline will get wifi into the lounge.

Cheers
