Hi Geekzone,

Just bought a ASUS RT-AC68U and having trouble setting it up for the first time.

I am currently on a Spark plan using ADSL, Fiber will be in my area in 1 month. But just looking to configure ADSL at the moment.

Following sparks website on installing a non spark router, im confused with the login at the moment. My email is registered under @xtra, so do i use @xtra or @spark?

Secondly i keep getting a error saying the network cable is unplugged when ive tested the cable on my old huawei router so it should be working just fine.

Any Help would be appreciated. :)

Old xtra credentials work fine but anything will do, doesn't have to be a valid username. Recommendation is to use user@spark.co.nz

Would you need to use a password for it then since your not using your spark account?

Yes. Also can use anything for password, e.g., pass1234

how do you plan on configuring it for ADSL? it doesnt have a modem built into it as its the RT model not the DSL one.

Sorry, I only skim read and missed the mention of adsl. P.S. Very dangerous to connect a phone line to an Ethernet interface.
