Hi All,

Does anyone know anything about the Amplifi Gamers Edition on if/when it is going to be available in New Zealand?

Review wise the main router is the same (apart from the firmware) but appears the mesh points have been redesigned a little

As a networking guy I am very very wary of anything that claims to be gaming orientated networking gear (especially NICs). Historically they have always been a mix of overhyped marketing combined with poor software.

Fully appreciate that, I seen some reviews of the original Amplifi that are a bit critical of the mesh points (coverage wise) so I'm hoping this version might be a bit better

It is literally the same with the word "gaming" slapped to it. Really, there is no difference between the two.

This is even what Ubiquiti mentioned to me when I asked them for a review unit (since I've also reviewed the original AmpliFi) but not in those exact words. Essentially, it is tuned with QoS for Nvidias cloud gaming service in the US so we'll never see it here in NZ.
