Excuse the possibly stupid question, but the ubiquitous HG659 router has a well known limit on the number of devices it will support before it starts misbehaving.

It seems there is a limit of 16 devices on each of the 2.4 and 5GHz wifi bands.

I dont physically have quite that many devices - though its getting close and I have been having an issue just recently with a media player so have had a look at the router and 'devices' it knows about.

I saw a few 'items' that I suspect might be the ipv6 addresses of some devices that also use ipv4.

Obviously I dont need to be using ipv6 internally - but I suppose newer devices would come with both ipv4 and ipv6 enabled.

So my question is - 'Does a device that has ipv4 and ipv6 enabled actually count as 2 devices on this router'?

Can't comment on ipv6, as i've not labtested.

Lan + Wireless will count, Also devices that connect then drop off later will also count till a reboot or reconnection of the already connected devices.

Certainly that last one causes some issues - I figured it was not forgetting.
