Looking at your photo you have a single phase 63 amp feed so that is good (compared to a 3 phase feed) for ethernet over power.

However you might strike issues as your power (your 3 point outlets) are separated over 2 RCD's (again normal, newer houses would have more) which can give variable results - but in many cases still works fine, generally with your setup which looks around 10 ish years old you should be fine.

In my experience, this really is the case. Depending on which circuit I'm on, I can detect the other unit or not in my house.

I have four units available if you are willing to test. PM me.

I have only had good luck with powerline in old houses with no RCDs. Even on the same circuit performance is hopelessly variable however.

Buy from a place with a returns policy, ask stupid questions of the sales person that they will assure that it will work to do "will it be better than wifi for my netflix TV" etc and take it back straight away if it doesnt work.

If the slow ones are unreliable, the fast one will not be any better on the same circuits.

I have a D-Link DHP-700AV kit. It works amazingly well in the old house im in. I get the full 100Mbit from my fibre connection. Totally solid performance.

But as the others have said your mileage may vary as I  had a 1st gen kit in another house a few years ago which hardly worked at all.

The only way to know for sure is to try it out.

If you need speed over 300Mbps which means 40M/s file copying speed from your NAS, you need to have an ethernet cable.

How did your trials go? Does it work for you? Do you get the speed you want?
