Hey guys,

I was curious how to achieve moderate NAT for multiple PS4's on Pfsense or Opnsense.

I have successfully managed to connect via PPPOE WAN to the Chorus ONT, everything works well.

Upnp is enabled, but it seems only one PS4 can get Moderate NAT.

I noticed on the Spark Huawei Modems I am able to get moderate NAT on multiple PS4s (WIRED or Wireless).

-- How do they achieve this , anyway to configure this on Opnsense?

Tests:

Huawei HG659b

Two PS4s WIRED - moderate NAT

1 PS4 Wired, 2 PS4 Wireless - moderate NAT

Pfsense / Opnsense

Two PS4s WIRED - 1 strict NAT, 2 moderate NAT

1 PS4 Wired - moderate NAT, 2 PS4 Wireless - strict NAT

Thanks!

Follow this guide but use the alias method.

Basically you need to set static ip's for your devices outside the current dhcp range then change your outbound method and make a new rule for the alias group to force static port mapping.

Don't forget to reboot everything after you make changes.
