Trying to help someone who is unable to set up Frtizbox for ADSL connection. I’ve only used it with VDSL. They are trying to use RJ11 cable to modem and it feels very Ruth and internet doesn’t work. Is that the right cable? Or should it be RJ45?

I think that one came with a specific cable, and not a stock standard RJ11 at the modem end? Sorry, hazy memory.

Can someone tell me which cable is it that it came with or which cable will work?

RJ45 at Fritz end and RJ11 at connection to filter or even BT if BT wall socket.

Thanks doesn’t seem like a cable that’s freely available!! Any alternatives? Will RJ12 to RJ45 work?
Also the person has tried RJ11 already to Fritz end, is there a possibility that they’ve damaged the pins?

This is the one thing that bothers me about RJ11...

I love to use RJ12-RJ45 cables for this, Cables direct do them for a decent price.

Shoving a RJ11 in just feels bruitish. Probably hikes the likelyhood of a bad connection causing errors on the DSL interface too?

Normally will only damage the outer pins. but is certainly possible.

PM me where you are. I have a fritz that used to have phone connected but I've got naked.
I still have the cable if you want it
