Just recently made the switch from VDSL to Fibre which also involved switching ISP's (old ISP failed to action a fibre request after 3 goes so I gave up went elsewhere), anyway was using a NF4V and was able to use my plex server remotely with no problems, after the ISP and Router change this is now not working.

I'm no network expert, but I have set a static IP for the Plex server, and set port forwarding to this IP (on port 32400) but no go, canyouseeme.org reports the port is closed, anyone have any other suggestions

I'm using an Edgerouter 4 with the latest firmware installed.

Is your new ISP providing a Public IP or could they be providing a CG-NAT Address?

Well what is the IP being assigned to the WAN of your edgerouter? Is it 100.64.x.x? When you go to ipchicken.com does it report the same IP as what is assigned to your WAN?

What ISP are you with?

I have the Edgerouter 4 and use Plex successfully. You need to ensure either a port-forward is set manually in your Plex (and router) or enable UPNP2 on your Edgerouter.

I've tried the manual port forwarding - no go

The UPNP2 - can't see that anywhere, but in the Wizards tab there is setup UPnP interfaces

Internal interface eth1 - external interface eth0

Not sure where to find in the ER4 the WAN assignment, I've had a look but nothing is jumping out

You have to forward the modem port 32400 to the edgerouter and then edgerouter port 32400 to the ip of the machine running plex.

At least I had to.

You may also (if your plex machine has 2 network interfaces) want to set (in Plex settings) Preferred network interface to the interface you're using vs having it on Any.

Ahhh hmmm did you add to the edgerouter allow incoming 32400 into your firewall settings?

he doesnt need to port forward it twice he will be edgerouter -> ONT

once on the edge router is fine, port forward it properly to the LAN static IP of your plex server.  dont use uPNP

the most important question has not been answered above, what is your new ISP. chances are its one with CGNAT which is why its not working for you.

I've also just upgraded from VDSL to Fibre with Spark which also involved a new router as my old one capped out at 100Mbps and the Spark supplied Huawei gave good speed but had awful restrictions on its capabilities. After much research (many thanks to @MichaelMurfy and his great review on this forum!!) I also ended up with an Edgerouter 4. Very happy and it does everything I could want.

However.... I did initially have problems with Port Forwarding. My mistake was that I used eth0.10 as my Wan Interface when (for Spark anyway) it needed to be set to pppoe0. That is the interface that is showing as having the external IP address on the dashboard. Once I changed this on the port forwarding tab, everything burst into life!

Just thought I'd mention it in case you'd made a similar mistake. :-)

Cheers
