I have 3 outputs which are all in use. Should I want to use another, do I have to upgrade my router or can you use a splitter of some sort?

All you need is an unmanaged switch. Something like this would be fine: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/SWHTPL1010/TP-Link-TL-SG1008D-8-Port-Gigabit-Unmanaged-Switch

Then just connect one port from the switch to the router.

It'll be that simple.
